Tarsar Marsar Trek

Trekking through the valley of Kashmir is a completely different experience. Beautiful turquoise (bluish-green colour) lakes, picturesque valleys, and unique alpine meadows await you. The Tarsar Marsar trip is so lovely that it outshines all others. When you first arrive at Aru, you feel as if you’ve arrived in heaven. You’re surrounded by a lush green pine forest, the rushing Lidder River with its milky hue, and the village’s lovely homes. You are charmed by such beauty during the walk. Furthermore, as you reach the gorgeous lakes in the later days of the walk, the beauty reaches its pinnacle.

The view of Tarsar Lake from the coasts to the far end is breathtaking. The lake appears to be so magnificent that it transports you to another universe. Even a distant view of Marsar Lake makes you feel as though you’re looking at one of the world’s natural beauties. The Sundarsar Lake is another lake on this walk that will steal your heart. It’s a magical experience to see the lake from Marsar ridge, with rocky mountains in the background and sunshine breaking through clouds.

I’ve done the Tarsar Marsar Trek three times already, and each time I felt like the luckiest person on the planet, living in heaven. Tarsar Marsar is my favourite journey since it actually transports you to another world.

Reasons about why do Tarsar Marsar trek –

This trek’s jewels are the three lakes Tarsar, Marsar, and Sundarsar. These are the most beautiful lakes I’ve ever seen. The blue green colour of the lakes glistens at all times. Tarsar Lake is my favourite of the three lakes, while Marsar and Sundarsar are equally lovely. Tarsar Lake captivates you with its beauty and serenity. This walk allows you to see Tarsar from a variety of perspectives and elevations, and it is breathtaking from every angle. The vista is so beautiful that it makes you feel as if you’re looking at a painting of a wonderful lake.

The view of Marsar Lake from a ridge close above it, on the other hand, is breathtaking. The sheer immensity of the lake astounds you. It’s a big almond-shaped lake encircled on all sides by gorgeous mountains. The Sundarsar Lake is located a short distance from Marsar Lake. Sundarsar is a rare lake to come upon. On three sides, the lake is bordered by modest snow-capped mountains, with enormous rough mountains in the background on the other. The sunrise and sunset on this lake are so beautiful that they leave you speechless for days.

Camping next to a lake is a once-in-a-lifetime chance in India. However, on this beautiful walk, you’ll be able to pitch your tents on the shores of Tarsar and Sundarsar lakes. These campsites are the greatest in the Himalayas that I have ever visited. Both campgrounds, like the lakes, are radically distinct. Tarsar Lake Campground is located on the edge of a lake, with Tarsar Ridge in the distance. You set your camp on the beautiful green grassland next to the lake, with the flaps of your tent facing the water.

When you open the flap, you’re greeted by a glistening Tarsar lake with snow-capped mountains in the background. You won’t get a view like this on any other hike. The flowing stream that originates from Tarsar Lake adds to the beauty of this campsite. The Tarsar lake’s water flows down the mountains, and you’ll pass this stream several times during your stay.

Sundarsar is a unique camping experience. The Sundarsar lake campsite is surrounded by snow-covered mountains during the start of the season, and you can see a beautiful reflection of them in Sundarsar lake. It’s an incredible trekking experience to have such a view just in front of your tent.

Meadows have always piqued my interest. I adore their thick green foliage and the breathtaking scenery that surrounds them. Though I’ve visited Asia’s largest meadows, Ali Bugyal and Bedni Bugyal, nothing compares to the splendour of the Tarsar Marsar Trek grasslands. The meadows are unique, and the best thing is that they accompany you on your journey. The picture-perfect meadows captivate you from the first moment. These meadows are incredibly lush green, with lovely pine trees and rushing water streams surrounding them.

When walking through these meadows, you’ll want to take off your trekking shoes and walk barefoot. Three out of five times on this walk, you will camp in beautiful meadows. Throughout the hike, you will come across little Gujjar homes and flocks of sheep grazing. These Gujjar homes transport you back to a nomadic existence.

Tarsar Marsar is a simple grade level trek, since I have completed it three times and even in three days. Beginners, youngsters above the age of 12, and experienced trekkers can all participate. The walking trails are short throughout the trek, with a good distance of 5-6km between two campsites. The trek also has only two steep sections; otherwise, the entire trail is a pleasant stroll. The altitude gain on this journey is quite minimal, lowering the danger of mountain sickness.

Here are my top four reasons for participating in the Tarsar Marsar Trek. So, you’ve probably got enough reasons to put Tarsar Marsar Trek on your July-August bucket list.
